The IEEE 1394 4-Port Hub is an intelligent distribution network engineered by Belkin to allow connections of three additional IEEE 1394 peripherals. To link with the computer's FireWire output, the 4-Port Hub comes with 2 meters (over 6.5 feet) of 6 to 6-pin cable. FireWire accommodates 4.5 meters of cable, but the signal can be extended in additional 4.5-meter increments to 68 meters, by repeat-amplification of data.

The Belkin 4-Port Hub includes a DC power supply to share with devices that draw DC current from the bus. Belkin's line of IEEE 1394 products include the FireWire PCI Host Adapter, CardBus, 4-Port Hub & Repeater, Bridge Converters for AT A/ATAPI drives and of course, the quality Belkin cables.
